In 2019 Lenovo Y530 and Lenovo Y740 are popular gaming laptops. Lenovo comes back with two strong mid-range gaming laptops this year (Lenovo Legion 5 and Lenovo Legion 5i). By name, it's a gaming laptop but doesn't look like it.
Pros:
1. Build Quality:
Firstly, I like its build quality. Though it's plastic it is premium. The high quality is good with a little flex but able to notice only when pressure is applied.
2. Keyboard:
Lenovo is popularly known for its keyboard. It continues it's premium from it's Ideapad series. It's not an RGB. It has key travel of 1.5mm.
3. Cooling Technology:
Usually, Laptop companies concentrate on build quality, screen quality, compact size but neglect cooling systems. But Lenovo makes it damn good which makes a tough competition for opponents like hp omen 15 (well known for its cooling technology). Lenovo uses cold front 2.0 with dual-channel thermal technology which has 3 modes quiet, balanced, performance.
4. Thermals:
Thermals are good on the laptop and don't overheat while Playing AAA titles and don't reach above 100degrees like the Legion 5i. As a result, games run smooth with 1650ti and give 60+fps in high graphics.
Cons:
1. Prize:
Lenovo launched this laptop at @80,990 which is a bit on the higher side compared to other laptops like Asus Tuf a15. Due to these reasons, this product doesn't makeup to mark sales in India. Making these into consideration if the price drop to mid 75k or below this makes the perfect choice for the user undoubtedly.
2.Screen Quality:
Another disadvantage is screen quality. It is visible in indoor conditions but not under sunlight. It's a 250nits display, not a 300nits even at this price point.
3.Battery Life:
Nowadays Laptops aren't having a great battery life. With a gaming laptop, it gives just about 2-3 hours of battery life. So while gaming we need to connect to a charger to get smooth gameplay.
